Necklaces

Archaeologists believe the history of the necklace goes back to the Stone Age era. In 2004 Scientists found evidence of 41 Mollusc’s which could have been used to create a neck decoration. This was around 75,000 years ago, it was then they discovered the length of time this item had been around for, and were shocked to uncover the truth.
The production of necklaces consisted of a simple piece of string or material, using stones, shells and bones to decorate and produce a piece of jewellery so special and unique, similar methods are still used today. In these times necklaces were often displayed to show a difference in cultures and worn by both men and women. As time went by, the necklace changed through the years, Egyptian times they were made of gold which by this period was in large supply. Necklaces in our present time are generally worn as gifts, these items of jewellery can be made up of a variety of metals, including gold and silver and decorated with stones, gems and beads amongst many others. These can be worn for fashion purposes or for religious beliefs. Jewellery of a high standard also indicates the level of wealth and this goes back through the decades. Necklaces come in a vast selection with many varieties to choose from.
Visit The Little Things in Life to discover our unique and wide selection of necklaces, we can ensure you will find that special individual piece of jewellery designed especially for you.
